Nassau County Fifth Police Precinct Welcomes New Crime Analyst

Putting all the tools together, and with all the analysis and research that we had done, we were able to predict "kind of" where this would happen next and how they would hit, said Nectaria Krokidis a hardworking Nassau County Intelligence Analyst.

It was 20 year old Adesola Oguntunji and 22 year old Luscon Desir that police say were terrorizing more that a dozen seniors on the South Shore, pushing them, knocking them down and stealing their pocketbooks. A cell phone stolen Friday during a purse snatching provided quick thinking police officers with the evidence they needed to make an arrest.

Police stopped the two suspects and were inspecting their car when one alert officer decided to call the cell phone of a victim who was robbed earlier that day.  The phone on the front passenger seat of the car began buzzing, and the officers made the arrest, said Police Commissioner Mulvey.
Commissioner Mulvey also stated that there has been a double digit decline in crime in Nassau County that is directly related to new police technology and hard working analysts.  Reports compiled by the analysts are sent directly to officers in the field through their patrol car computers.
