Nassau County Police Department
On April 16, 1925, the Nassau County Police Department began. The Department, founded with 55 reassigned Deputy Sheriffs, formed out of necessity to address the disjointed and unbalanced policing of the County’s 200,000 residents. Today, the Department has over 2,500 sworn members who serve more than 1.3 million residents. From its beginning the NCPD developed into a modern and highly respected Department now serving the Community for 86 years.

In response to community complaints, PEP /POP officers conducted a Project 21 detail targeting the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors. Listed defendants did sell alcoholic beverages to underage police agents without asking for identification. During the detail, a total of seven businesses were inspected with four arrests effected.
