Franklin Square Civilian Patrol

Dear Neighbor,

We are your Franklin Square Civilian Patrol, the oldest Civilian Patrol operating on Long Island. Through the years we have exercised our commitment to the security of Franklin Square with a 100% voluntary, dedicated membership. Every year it is our custom to ask the people of Franklin Square to step forward and aide us in our efforts and in response the people have always backed us up. Frankly what we really need right now is more help running the street patrols. The proven best deterrent to criminal action is attention to our streets. Criminals by nature are sneaks and sneaks work best when backs are turned on them. Our position as a Civilian Patrol is simple, to watch. Recent events in our neighborhood show that although there have been decreases in crime rates there will always be a few bad apples. In no way can the Civilian Patrol ever be considered a Police type of organization; we already have one of the finest Police Departments in the country right here in Nassau County! The job of a Civilian Patrol is to act as a watch on wheels giving the community the edge to know that there is someone else out there keeping an interested eye on things. The sole commitment we require of our volunteers is a least two hours of their time per week to rove the streets of Franklin Square in either marked or unmarked cars acting as a deterrent and reporting and unusual activity to the proper authority. If you love your community and feel you would like to get involved in community affairs then you belong with us. Please send us a note for more information and JOIN UP!!
Thank you.
